How to Make Moving a Breeze: Eliminate Procrastination.

Everyone hates moving – it’s a given. Whether you’re moving a home or office, the pain is still the same. Despite this, we’re seeing an alarming trend of requests for large commercial and residential moving services within 24-hours here in Austin. Clients then seem surprised that accommodating a move with such short notice would require a huge mark up.

Why? Mainly because last minute requests like this cause any moving company to scramble to find movers and plan every aspect of the move without proper preparation or visibility. Essentially, the client is asking the mover to move his/her belongings blindly. This will make the move stressful for everyone, and may not go as smoothly as it should.

Our goal is to provide stellar service allowing our clients to relax and enjoy the sunset at the end of the day.  Last minute requests for moving services send our business into a tail-spin, and because of the extra effort required to support it, you will be charged a premium.

As one of the largest full-service moving companies in Austin, we would much prefer to manage all aspects of the move professionally, and have you relax while we do the heavy lifting. Granted, many moving companies do not provide Total Move Management services as we do, but the practice of procrastination and expectation of immediate gratification within 24 hours is both unrealistic and frankly, inconsiderate.

Procrastination is defined as “the act of willfully delaying the doing of something that should be done,” and in some people, it is a habitual way of handling any task. When it comes to moving, we recommend moving out of this habit and forcing yourself to deal with your move at least 6 weeks in advance to request a quote. The move will go smoothly, your costs will be reasonable, and you’ll be able to relax at the end of the day. There’s a lot to be said for planning ahead and being able to kick back and watch the sunset. Pura Vida!
